The need for speed!

Another weekend in the books, and another amazing two days! On Saturday, we hosted the 3rd MWC/U10K Race of the season. The athletes competed in a stubby SL in firm conditions. Firm is actually an understatement for the last pitch of Warm Up - it was polished! In the afternoon, they participated in the 3rd skills quest event of the season. Congrats to all of the athletes on a great day and thank you to the staff and volunteers for making it such a fantastic day.

Sunday, we had a full slate of training on Warm Up with members from all of our teams out there. The U14/16/19's took advantage of the Lower Wedel start and ran SG all morning. They utilized the start ramp from the day before as a jump on the lower section of the hill. Athletes were flying anywhere from 20-40 feet down the hill and the coaches saw nothing but smiles in the finish. The athletes lapped all morning gaining valuable experience in speed and in the air. The U12's took advantage of our newly shaped wave track in the afternoon and ran a stubby SL through the waves into a leaning tall pole SL, into a regular tall pole. We made the decision to introduce our U12's to tall pole SL this season to help with earlier development ahead of their U14 years!

President's week offered us an opportunity to host Flex Day Training. On Monday, we had roughly 35 athletes in total ranging from U8 to U19. On Monday, our younger athletes utilized the mountain terrain to continue to build their fundamental base before running a paneled SL that progressively grew into GS. The U14/16/19's had a double session on Monday, running GS in the morning and switching to SL in the afternoon. Tuesday saw the U8/10/12's enjoy perfect conditions on the mountain before running a variety set: wave track into pole hoppers into a GS that ran over the SG jump! Check out the Instagram account to see how it ran: @therealwindhamracefactory. It was fun to watch and by all accounts from the athletes, it was even more fun to run! Our U14/16/19 teams again took advantage of the additional on snow time and had a double session with GS in the morning and SL in the afternoon. The surface has been incredible and we are looking forward to the remaining days of President's week!
