Holiday training madness!

Holiday training has commenced! The conditions are leaning slightly to the side of variable around the mountain but with some cold nights coming up for snowmaking, I think we will have some improved conditions when we return for training on the 26th! We had a great weekend with a large portion of our program on snow Saturday and Sunday. Monday saw our numbers thin a bit, but we were still a presence on the hill with groups continuing to work on their fundamental base. Warm Up has officially been dubbed "The Glacier," due to the perfect, (super) firm surface. The kids have been making laps either in training environments or working on free skiing drills and we are so grateful to have The Glacier exclusively for our program. When doing slow speed drills, it is so great to be in a safe and enclosed environment without the risk of collisions with the public.

We almost have everyone on TeamSnap and receiving program emails but there are still a few outliers who have yet to complete their profile. If you are not receiving emails via TeamSnap, please email Topher (tharlow@windhammountain.com) or Sinead (laverysinead@gmail.com) to get your account squared away. This is an important communication tool for the coaches to communicate with you and for you to be able to update your availability for each training day! Please try to get in the habit of updating availability so the coaches know who to expect and how many athletes to prepare for each day.

As we head into the brief holiday break, we should all take time to reflect upon the great opportunity we have to be involved with the Windham Race Factory community. For me personally, it was not easy to uproot my life in Stowe and move down to Windham with very few contacts. The continued warm welcome I have received really solidifies the fact that I made a great decision to join this wonderful community. From the smallest U8's in the program yelling, "good morning Topher!" to training with the U16/19 program on Christmas Eve, and parents embracing me as part of the WRF family, I want to say THANK YOU. We have a great group of young people, parents, and staff and I believe we are all fortunate to be part of this community.

Happy Holidays!
