Opening weekend - complete!

What an AMAZING first weekend! Nearly 225 athletes and over 50 coaches participated in opening weekend. The groups went out in waves with the our U14 team hitting the snow at 8:15AM, followed by the U12 team at 8:30AM, U10 team at 8:45AM, and our entire Mini World Cup and U16/19 teams at 9:00AM. Each group brought a great amount of energy to the mountain and it was inspiring to see the athletes (and parents!) so fired up for the start of program.

With the development of our program wide curriculum, all of the age groups hit the snow moving. They all had an agenda to cover for the day with a couple of simple focus points for their groups. Things will continue to shift within each program as athletes settle into their programs and groups. We are already on the cusp of heading into the holiday period where we will be offering a full program to the athletes. In the coming days, coaches will be sending out communications through TeamSnap to find out who will be here for the holiday break which will allow them to properly staff each group.

Major kudos to our snowmaking and grooming teams. We were hit with some warm temps on Saturday and weather of all kinds on Sunday; rain, sleet, snow, and a brief moment of sun. The effort to get the mountain prepped and a sustainable surface was herculean and all programs reaped the benefits. They provided a great surface for us on Warm Up for Sunday that we utilized from 8:00AM until 3:00PM with our programs. Their effort allowed us to set up proper training environments for our athletes to use throughout the weekend. If you see a snowmaker and/or a groomer, make sure to say thank you! The other major kudos goes out to our team at Rock'n Mexicana. We had our first WRF social of the season and had planned on roughly 50 attendees...by the time everyone was there, we were easily 100 strong! It was crazy busy and they worked so hard to keep things moving and make sure everyone was taken care of throughout the social. They absolutely crushed it! Please drop in there at some point when it's not so busy and give them a high five, say thank you for a great night, and stay for dinner!

We recently fired up our Instagram account so please check it out and follow us. We will be posting updates every day of program and periodically throughout the week! @therealwindhamracefactory

We are approaching 300 registered athletes in WRF and communication is vital. If you are having trouble with TeamSnap, please let us know. If you know you aren't going to be here for program, please let us know. It helps them get their morning going without worrying where your athlete might be!

See you Saturday!
